Skuing & Facing Products
Step by Step: Pallet Products
Safety: Prevents tripping, falling, or collapsing stacks.
Efficiency: Makes loading/unloading faster for staff and customers.
Sales Appeal: A neat yard builds customer confidence and encourages bulk purchases.
Designated Zones: Keep all palletized goods (mulch, stone, soil, etc.) in a specific area of the lot for easy navigation.
Surface: Place pallets on flat, stable ground (concrete, gravel, or compacted soil). Avoid slopes to prevent leaning stacks.
Traffic Flow: Arrange aisles wide enough for carts, forklifts, and customer vehicles.
Keep stacks uniform—square edges, bags or stones aligned evenly.
Never stack pallets higher than waist-to-chest level for bagged goods (prevents collapse).
Crisscross layering (alternating directions every row) keeps stacks stable.
Fill gaps immediately—don’t leave bags hanging over edges.
Re-stack leaning or broken bags promptly.
Use large, weatherproof signs with product name, size, and price at the front of each stack.
Ensure all sign holders are tucked under pallets and are with the correct product.
Replace faded or missing signs right away.
Sweep or blow debris around pallet areas regularly.
Replace torn bags with shrink-wrap or tape to prevent spillage.
Keep aisles clear—don’t let broken bags or stray stones clutter walkways.
Rotate product: new deliveries in back, older pallets in front
